Degree Seminar in Painting
My degree piece is a collection of modern tales written and illustrated by me. It is the story of a fairy land dealing with globalisation-related problems, such as forests abounding in products that the characters greedily pick, thereby causing an epidemic of insomnia. The tales bring up, among others, the problem of police brutality and toxic masculinity, making poetic theories about how the police came into being and about the origin of such phenomena as brutality, nationalism, power and war. However, the overall tone is positive, and the tales create a joyful and hopeful vision, proposing non-obvious solutions to the problems faced by humanity.
