Because of its materiality, classic sculpture exists in real space, but its essence is derived from the immaterial world: from the world of intentions that constantly evolve. The world of art can be compared to a huge space – for instance, to a planet – onto which we, artists, fall at a certain moment. We begin to explore this unexplored planet in search of various elements and forms. Only after many hours of scrupulous search pursued in a state of absolute concentration, almost meditation, are we able to bring about a work of art – or, actually, a work of art emerges on its own. This concentration, experiencing the art of creation, temporariness of a work of plastic art is the most important thing for me. Art is not only a matter of creation – art is, above all, a matter of discovery.
