Faculty of Graphic Arts

Born 1991. A graduate of uniform master’s degree studies at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2022). Scholarship of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts (2018/2019). In 2022, he participated in a number of group exhibitions: Alef Bet, PROM Kultury Saska Kępa, Warsaw; Turn the sun off, kill the birds, Old Railway Paint Shop in the Newag Locomotive Factory, Nowy Sącz; KISSPRINT 2022, Powiśle Power Plant, Warsaw; Drawing∞ 10^th International Student Drawing Exhibition, Wozownia Art Gallery, Toruń; Horizon, Czapski Palace, Warsaw; Sztuka S-Kraju [The Art of the Edge / Country], Pogłos, Warsaw. The winner of Spread your wings with a lion – a competition held by Generali and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2021).

Description

Self-reflection

I created nine works (200 × 150 cm) with the use of anastatic reprint, ink printing, photography and 3D programming. During work, I uncovered older layers, added new ones and applied glue between the elements and on the surface of works to change their structure. The prints refer to memories of the past. I connected the objects, words, images, fragments of documents and signs that I had taken from the outside world and the inside of my head. The compositions are not accidental – they are the results of observations on how events are etched in my memory. This was an opportunity to look at myself and to collide my artistic output with the past – I could not go further without confronting the latter.
