In my degree piece, I conducted research on the third landscape at the junction of Okęcie and Rakowiec. I attempted to map the relationships of various viewers of those places looking for connections between nature and culture, the human and the inhuman. As I followed the directions of the actor-network theory (ANT), I focused on the most holistic view of those borderlands.
I collected my findings in a guide, whose purpose is to promote and demystify urban wastelands. The culmination of the whole process was a stroll and a discussion panel organised in May 2023 in collaboration with the Andrzej Iwanicki Creative Arts Centre/Kopuła 9. I want to advocate the idea of the third landscape and ANT among my recipients. I encourage them to examine their local “wastelands” – after all, they can be found everywhere, and each of them is a unique microcosm.
