The basis of my degree piece is a conversation with Mrs Wanda Traczyk-Stawska, a participant in the Warsaw Uprising, whose legacy inspired the entirety of my reflections in this project. I observed the streets of Warsaw. I asked questions about the symbol of Fighting Poland and attempts to manipulate it to Robert Bąkiewicz from nationalist circles, Marta Lempart from the Women’s Strike, representatives of the Polish Grandmothers group, the journalist Oktawia Kromer and Elżbieta Podleśna, who proved in court that it is the intentions that count in the manipulation of symbols.
