FOLK concept – GRANARY ADAPTATION DESIGN

In recent times the topic of the village has gone beyond the existing framework and is becoming an even more important element having an impact on identity and origin. My degree piece summarises a few years of research concerning the rural architectural fabric. The adaptation and comprehensive elaboration of the granary building allowed me to create a degree piece that is not only aesthetically valuable, but also promotes unique works of folk art and the treasures of cultural heritage of Podlasie and Masovia. The degree piece is complemented by a minor degree on landscape architecture, which is to supplement the functioning of the object and enhance its advantages. The idea of the design assumes a pro-ecological approach to environment protection through the use of modern solutions fitting into the assumptions of sustainable design.
