The subject of my degree piece is related to my interests. Wide research, analyses, interviews, and design consultations with a handcar manufacturer resulted in an innovative vehicle. The functional, operational, and aesthetic solutions clearly differentiate the vehicle from the competition. Following further work, my concept could be put into production.
The design’s key value is an in-depth analysis of the context of handcar usage. Seven interviews that I conducted with railway workers helped me explore the areas that have probably never been looked into by industry designers in Poland. The design fits a very specific niche and reveals untapped potential. I believe it reasonable to provide railway industry workers with adequate tools to do their job.
