“Cableness” manifests the intentional creation of disorder. It is a site-specific installation composed of cables, synthesisers, and signal and audio converters. The generally hidden tissue is exposed in the form of an electronic anomaly. The ambiguous structure of connections reflects the libidinal network concealed in everyone’s unconsciousness. It intrigues and alarms, bears questions without giving a single or any answer. It is non-neutral, it attracts, captivates with the “here and now”. The lethargic space dominated by random synthetic sounds, cables, and electronic devices becomes a no-place, an alienated space where no interaction is possible. We can only watch the absurd choreography of machines and sounds. Hence, “Cableness” is a kind of tabernacle, but interacting with it does not necessitate any declaration of faith, it is a type of meditative simulation.
