What is the point of bringing rules and principles into artistic activities? For me, it is a way of making my world real. Thanks to rules and principles, it becomes more tangible/understandable/possible to discover.
In each part of my degree piece, I have tried to present my world in such a way that others can see it too. Why?
I believe that honesty and authenticity are the basis for proper functioning in the world. Thanks to these two factors, I know that I can make an interaction with ‘something’ or ‘someone’, where both sides are equal—no one is hiding anything or pretending something.
By showing that my works are not a coincidence, mindlessly stylised illustrations or (just?) a pretty object to cover a stain on the wall above the sofa, I emphasise their sincerity, authenticity, dynamism and expressiveness—simply liveliness.
