Sonia Dudek

Meet Sonia—an interactive project inspired by on-line erotic games, combining an original strategy with a unique aesthetics of presence. It is a post-pornographic intimate experience encouraging participants to immerse fully and build a relationship with a digital avatar. Balancing between virtual and physical space, each encounter is unique and dependent on the exchange between the performer and the participants. The project makes use of innovative tools, including an app on a game engine, real-time capture of facial expressions and a reactive audio system, which gives full control over the interaction. It is a project about new inclusive forms of communication in art and beyond, exploring the relationship between performance and the media in such a rapidly changing reality.
